Canberra Primary School to become a Foundation School
As you are aware, in the autumn term last year, the governing body of The Phoenix Canberra Schools Federation started the process of considering a change of category for Canberra Primary School to become a Foundation School.
Having been through the informal consultation period and statutory representation period, the governing body met on 19th March 2012 and agreed that Canberra Primary School would become a Foundation School. Canberra Primary School will become a Foundation School on 16th April 2012.
From this date, Phoenix High School and Canberra Primary School will have the same legal status which will allow the governors to continue to manage the schools in the best interests of the students, staff and the local community.

Holland Tour 2011
The Year 8 boys and girls football teams went on a football tour to Holland for a long weekend in October. The trip started early on the Friday morning with our journey by coach and boat to Den Haag. We arrived at our hostel at 7pm ready for Dinner! That evening the pupils started preparing for their first match, to be played the following morning, eager to discuss tactics and excited about their role in the team.

Investor in Careers Kite Mark
Phoenix High School is working towards the Investor in Careers Kite mark for July 2012. This means that all students will have an even more successful transition from class based learning at Phoenix into employment when they leave school.
