Phoenix High School is a vibrant multicultural school which is committed to substantially enhancing the life chances of its students, through high expectations and first class teaching and learning. Our students are well motivated and very keen to make progress in their studies. Phoenix Break-dance Battle!
Phoenix Break-dance Battle! On Monday 12th December, Phoenix’s 12 strong break-dance crew headed off on the tube to Acland Burghley School in Tuffnel Park for their first every BBoy (and BGirl) battle, as part of the Step in2 Battle event run by the Royal Academy of Dance and Jack Petchey Award.

Holland Tour 2011
The Year 8 boys and girls football teams went on a football tour to Holland for a long weekend in October. The trip started early on the Friday morning with our journey by coach and boat to Den Haag. We arrived at our hostel at 7pm ready for Dinner! That evening the pupils started preparing for their first match, to be played the following morning, eager to discuss tactics and excited about their role in the team.

Investor in Careers Kite Mark
Phoenix High School is working towards the Investor in Careers Kite mark for July 2012. This means that all students will have an even more successful transition from class based learning at Phoenix into employment when they leave school.


Graduation and Prom Night
Graduation took place on the 23rd June and was very well attended. It was a fantastic event and the graduates of 2011 looked wonderful dressed in their gowns. Also the annual prom celebrating the end of Year 11 was well attended by the students and supported by members of staff.

Our brand new Post 16 Centre is now open
The brand new Post 16 Centre is now open and ready for business. Students and staff report that they love the building and its new state-of-the-art facilities. We expect well over one hundred students to start their A Level studies in September 2011 – familiar faces from Year 11 and students from other schools as well.
